Q: What are the applicable taxes?
The federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) is 7%.
Provincial sales tax (PST)* for Quebec residents is 7.5%.
For Ontario , Manitoba , Saskatchewan , Alberta , British-Columbia and Prince Edward Island residents,
the provincial sales tax is 8%.
The 15% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is applicable for residents of Atlantic Canada and Labrador.
* There is no provincial sales tax on books in Quebec , Ontario , Manitoba and British-Columbia.
If your order is to be shipped to another province, the taxes that will be charged are those of the province of destination. Some provinces charge both provincial and federal taxes, some only provincial tax, and some, harmonized tax. For example, if you are a resident of Quebec and your order is to be shipped to Ontario , you will be charged 8% Ontario sales tax and 7% GST.
