Contrary to screws and nails that secure boards from the top down, the invisible fasteners are installed between the boards. This helps to prevent wood splitting, possible injuries due to raised nail heads, and water infiltration that causes mould. The result is a deck that is perfectly smooth and esthetic without visible nails or screws.

Lumber Loc – For cedar and treated lumber
 Lumber Loc invisible fasteners are made of solid black plastic. They are resistant to salt, oil, insects and many acid and chemical products. Installation requires the use of a biscuit joiner machine or a router to create a slot where the tie will be inserted. Once inserted, the tie is fixed to the joist. Lumber Loc invisible fasteners are made for hard wood. Their design allows for wood expansion and contraction, and ensures equal spacing between boards. The invisible fasteners are easily installed with a biscuit joiner or a router.
Tiger Claw
These easily installed fasteners are made of stainless steel with a black top coat. They are fixed to the joist making for a very stable surface. The Tiger Claw fastener design attaches directly to the thickness side of the boards and binds them all together. They are resistant to corrosion and available in four different models:

Ipe Clip
 This fastener is used for hardwood like ExodeckMD ipe. Ipe Clip fasteners are reinforced with fibreglass for added resistance that makes them ideal for fixing ¾ in. thick boards. To install this fastener, insert into a slot made with a biscuit jointer or a router, and attach to the joist with a stainless steel screw.
Deckster
 Deckster is a safe fixation bracket that is fastened from underneath the boards. This ingenious bracket provides excellent board stability because they are doubly anchored . Boards are secured at regular intervals at a 45 degree angle into the cross grains of the wood. This provides a solid and stable installation, with no creaking boards.
