House Milk Paint 230g

A milk paint finish is unique and can range from a solid color to a stain depending on how much water you add. Milk paint can be used on any porous surface without primer. It will never chip or peel on porous surfaces as it soaks and binds to the substrate. for adhesion to previoulsly painted surfaces, be sure to use the bonding agent.

Mixing :

1. Mix 1 part water to 1 part milk paint powder with a blender, paint mixer or thoroughly by hand with a whisk.
2. Add water to the blender first, then add milk paint powder and mix for 1 minute.
3. For best results, let sit for 10 minutes to fully dissolve all pigments and ingredients, then mix again for 1 minute.
4. Your mixed milk paint should have a table cream consistency for a solid opaque coverage.
5. Paint out a small sample to test consistency.
6. If the sample is to thin (transparent), add more powder. If the sample is too thick (opaque), add more water.
7. Once satisfied with the consistency, pour into a wide mouth container to work with.=
8. Wash blender.

Application :

Apply evenly. Stir pain between applications as pigments may settle to the bottom of container.

Drying time : 30 minutes

Tips :

2-3 coats may be necessary to achieve your desired look. Lightly sand with a fine grit sandpaper (grit 220) to smooth the paint surface and remove dust. The flat chalky appearance will deepen in color when you apply your desired top coat finish.

Finishing coat :

For interior use, you can use hemp oil or beewax finish.

For exterior use, you can use tung oil.

You may also use a polyurethane varnish for a free maintenance sealant.
