Brownish Barnwood
Bois de grange brunit
Sometimes referred to as reclaimed hemlock wood or mushroom wood, burnished barn wood is made from softer woods like hemlock, cedar, and cypress.
Burnished barn wood comes from salvaging wood from commercial mushroom growing beds and is increasingly popular due to its natural beauty. The honey brown coloring and dark black knots make this an easy choice for rich wood with lots of character.
This unique wood has endured years of acid, moisture and abrasion laden compost and, as a result, is one of the most popular character woods. It is an excellent choice for covering walls and ceilings, cabinets, making doors and can also be used very well outdoors.
The wood has been dried and one side is brushed.
Each board is unique and features an array of variations, knots and abrasion that give it its unique look and so loved by designers and architects.
